The past and Alfa Romeo

The City Life commercial and residential district is located in the vast area of the Portello area, a well-known location in Milan as it was the headquarters of Alfa Romeo for decades. Even before that it was a rural peripheral area of the city used mostly for livestock and agricultural activities; in 1910 it was officially acquired by the large car manufacturer and thanks to the expansion of the car factory, other factories were gradually structured, giving jobs to many citizens. To facilitate the movement of the high flow of workers, the Municipality built the well-known external ring road thanks to which over the years an important connection was created with many areas of the city. We arrive in the mid-1980s and the Alfa Romeo, already sold to banks for large financial debts, is sold to the Fiat group and its reality is transferred elsewhere, leaving space in 1997 for the large exhibition halls, some of which are still active and better known. how: Fieramilanocity. In the autumn of 2015 some pavilions were moved to the Fieramilano pole in Rho-Pero where they still reside today and their infrastructures were left to City Life Consortium.

The present and its modernity

Year after year many pioneering architectures are inaugurated at City Life: Shopping District, Tennis Garden, Milan City Paddel, the flower gardens, the park, the vast and dynamic pedestrian area, make this Milanese district a sought-after neighborhood. Modernity reigns supreme enough to establish this district as the most modern in Italy. This exponential growth of avant-garde architecture means that the residences in this area are highly sought after and increasingly unavailable. The Milan Convention Center with 65 rooms and over 50,000 exhibition spaces makes this conference center one of the most important in Italy. The neighborhood is becoming more and more precious, living and walking in this area offers unique emotions; priceless to admire the sunset that expands in all its splendor in the shadow of the Hadid tower.

The three towers, which take their name from their creators, are the nerve center of the pedestrian area and the park of over 170,000 square meters. from their heights you can admire a large part of Milan and its immense green lung which is considered the 2nd largest in the city center.
